2012 Subaru Impreza 2.0i 5-door Touring
The latest version of the 2012 Subaru Impreza 5-doors 2.0i Touring’s CVT is quieter, lighter and more compact than ever before. By using a chain instead of a belt, this transmission allows for a near-infinite selection of gear ratios, keeping the engine in the most favourable rpm range at all times. This, in turn, allows the 2012 Impreza 5-doors 2.30i Touring to travel up to 1000km on one tank of fuel! The multi-plate transfer clutch AWD system maintains a 60/40 front-to-rear torque split for more predicable handling, then automatically adjusts the split to 50/50 under hard acceleration or when conditions warrant.

2012 Subaru Impreza 2.0i 5-door Sport
The 2012 Subaru Impreza 5-doors 2.0i Sport offers the choice of a 5-speed manual transmission or a next-generation Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), each designed and engineered to work with its own version of Subaru symmetrical full-time AWD for optimum performance and efficiency on all roads, in all seasons, at all times. For more sporty handling and increased driver involvement, the 2012 Impreza 5-doors 2.0i Sport is also available with a 5-speed manual transmission with a viscous-coupling limited-slip centre differential. This variation of Subaru symmetrical full-time AWD maintains a 50/50 torque split for heightened response under all conditions.
